Saints of the Week

Each week, the Church honors holy men and women whose lives point us to Christ. As we prepare for the week ahead, let’s draw inspiration from these saints on the Catholic calendar, each offering grace and guidance in our lives today.

Week of July 6-12

🗓 Sunday, July  6 – St. Maria Goretti

Italian virgin‑martyr who forgave her attacker with her last breath at age 11.

🗓 Tuesday, July  8 – Sts. Aquila & Priscilla

First‑century missionary married couple who worked with St. Paul and in their "domestic church" hosted some of the earliest meetings of the early Church.

🗓 Wednesday, July  9 – St. Augustine Zhao Rong & Companions

The first Chinese priest to die a martyr, along with over 100 other Chinese martyrs—both clergy and lay faithful—killed for their faith between 1648–1930.

🗓 Thursday, July  10 – Sts. Rufina & Secunda

Roman sisters and virgins martyred on the Via Cornelia during the 3rd century for refusing to renounce the faith or marry pagans.

🗓 Friday, July  11 – St. Benedict of Nursia

Founder of Western monasticism and author of the Rule of St. Benedict that has shaped centuries of religious life.

French lay couple, parents of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, and the first married couple to be canonized saints together. Noted for their holiness in marriage and family.
